Student Representative Council (SRC)

Sirius College SRC students have been engaged with weekly meetings, chaired by the SRC president Noor Mgoter of year 6. As their SRC support teacher, my role is to guide students and teach them how to effectively run a meeting and ultimately build on their leadership skills.

The SRC will be organising a ‘Sirius has Talent’ Show this term, encouraging any student with a talent to take part in the competition and will have some great prizes up for grabs.

SRC has also decided to start a Pizza Day every second Tuesday, in which students will have the choice to place a lunch order for pizza which will be purchased from a local pizza shop.

Students have been actively listening to their peers and brought these ideas to the meetings and are making gradual changes to the items or areas of the school they feel needs change.

Students are spending time out of their free leisure to improve their school environment and starting to make a difference on their immediate environment and we hope to extend this engagement to their community.
